How do I request an immunization exemption?

Documented medical conditions that prevent safe administration of immunizations can be documented on the Annual Health and Medical Record. You may also request an exemption using this request: Immunization Exemption Request. The Immunization Exemption request will typically not impact the individual’s ability to participate in Den and Pack activities.  However, the individual requesting an exemption may be prohibited from participating in some Council or other activities considered higher risk. How do I complete the BSA Health Form?

We work hard to keep our Scouts and other program participants safe during our events, but sometimes injuries happen.  Scouts are required to complete an Annual Health & Medical Form every year so that our Leaders have the information and authorization they need to address any health issues that may arise. Where can I find the date of my Scout’s latest BSA Health Form?

The effective date for your Scout’s latest BSA Health Form is tracked in Scoutbook: Navigate to Scoutbook. Click on your My Dashboard. Click on your Scout’s Name under Administration. (You may need to click on Administration to show your Scout.) Scroll down your Scout’s profile and click on Edit Profile (It will appear below the “Awards” section). You will find the date of your Scout’s health form in the field titled Annual Health Record A/B Date. What should my Scout wear to a Den / Pack meeting?

Scouts should wear their Class A Field Uniforms to all Pack and Den events unless otherwise instructed in the event invitation. This includes: The Blue or Khaki Scout Uniforms shirt (or Lion t-shirt) Uniform belt with completed adventure loops Rank-specific neckerchief and slide Appropriate pants, jeans, or shorts that complement their uniform shirt For Pack and Den events where the Scouts will be more active (i.e. Pack Olympics, hikes, camping), Scouts will be instructed to wear their Class B Activity Uniforms or activity appropriate clothing. What is the difference between a Den and a Pack?

A Den is a small group of Scouts that are in the same grade at school and are all working toward the same rank: Kindergarten – Lion Rank 1st grade – Tiger Rank 2nd grade – Wolf Rank 3rd grade – Bear Rank 4th grade – Webelos Rank 5th grade – Arrow of Light A Pack is the collection of all Dens affiliated with a single Charter Organization. A Charter Organization is the organization that sponsors the Pack and its Dens. Pack 457’s Charter Organization is English Lutheran Church in Zelienople. Members of our Pack do not need to be directly affiliated with the Charter Organization.

There are multiple Cub Scout Handbooks (one for each Rank / Year in the program). These books explain the specific requirements for each required and elective Adventure a Scout can complete while they work towards their rank. What is a “Class B” Uniform?

The Class B uniform (also called the Activity Uniform) is the Pack t-shirt/sweatshirt, activity appropriate pants or shorts, and an optional scouting cap. In keeping with Boy Scouts of America rules, any previous Pack 457 t-shirt can be worn as a Class B uniform, even if it is not in the current style.
